Officially published as an Untitled book on 24 May 1984 this hunt was written and illustrated by Kit Williams (pictured) - author of the ground-breaking Masquerade. The object of the hunt was to find its title and express it without using the written word.
A closing date was set a year and a day after launch and the format allowed for the author and publishers to choose the best 'expression' of the answer. The prize was an inlaid box - as depicted on the book cover, containing a fully titled copy of the book. Steve Pearce from Leicester was selected as the winner from six entrants. His cuckoo-clock-like solution is pictured on second editions of the book (which carries the hunt's full title).
